Description:
|
| |
215,000 sq.ft. renovation of the World Headquarters for this Fortune 500 company. The building remained occupied throughout construction, and a multi-phased plan was developed and executed which allowed all business units to remain in full operation. |
| |
W&M worked closely with Pitney Bowes to develop a program that reduced the environmental
impact of the project. Various environmentally sensistive building techniques were researched,
including "Green" construction methods and sustainable materials including:
Recycling of over 500 tons of construction debris in lieu of sending it to landfill
Utilizing synthetic gypsum wallboard made from the slag from coal-burning factories
Installing high output / energy saving lighting with occupancy sensors for maximum conservation
Limiting VOCs into the air through use of earth-friendly building materials
| |
A set of communicating stairs serving multiple floors involved an intensive structural modification to the existing building.
|
| |
Two (2) atrium bridges were constructed to connect wings of the building that were previously isolated from each other creating greater employee connectivity and interaction.
